MISSIONS AT FIRST BAPTIST

Members of the congregation are urged to become involved in missions by the Women's Missionary Union and the Mission Development Ministry Team. Opportunities to participate in mission projects are advertised in First Family and promoted at the Wednesday night fellowship dinners.

W.M.U. meets on a quarterly basis with a mission speaker and brunch. Mission projects we have adopted are birthing kits for Haiti; food closet ministry (including packing Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes for church members and friends); and a monthly luncheon for the Seafarers ministry at Port Canaveral.

Mission Development encourages church members to give to the annual Back-To-School Give-Away held in July. School supplies and backpacks are provided for needy children in the community. Congregation members also bring toys at Christmas for the Cocoa Police Department to distribute to disadvantaged children.

Offerings for the International and North American Mission Boards, as well as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Global Missions are promoted by the W.M.U. twice each year. A State mission offering is also promoted in September.

Come and be a part of obeying the Great Commission through prayer and giving to missions.
