Jeb Godbout has served as the Youth Pastor of First Baptist of Cocoa since April of 2008.  Prior to FBCC he served as the Praise and Worship leader and Director of Christian Education at Cornerstone Church of God in Ft. Meade, Florida for 4 years. He has also served as an Associate Pastor and Praise and Worship Leader at Merritt Island Church of God and at West Melbourne Christian Center for a total of seven years. His ministry and work with youth and children began at First Baptist Church of Cocoa in 1983.
 
Jeb completed the Southern Baptist Seminary Extension program at Brevard Baptist Association in 1987, and graduated from the Church of God, Cleveland, Ministerial Internship Program in 1989.
Jeb and his wife Carol (B.S. Secondary Math Ed., University of Central Florida) have three beautiful grown children, Cari, Keith, and Sara, and four grandchildren, Caden, Bayleigh, Natalee, and Seth (due in February 2010).
 
ABOUT ME
What is your favorite book?
First of all is the Bible. I enjoy reading anything from Charles Swindoll, Charles Stanley, Frank Peretti, and Max Lucado.   My favorite fiction author is Louis L’Amour who wrote of the authentic West.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy riding motorcycles every chance I get. I also enjoy cooking, camping, swimming, weightlifting and watching drag races.

What is your favorite food?
Let’s put it this way, I love ALL food, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be a perfectly seasoned medium rare Porterhouse steak.

What is your favorite Bible Verse?
My favorite Bible verses are,
Old Testament: Proverb 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
New Testament: 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”
 
Who are your favorite sports teams?
Florida Gators football
What is your favorite pastime?
Spending time with my family.

What was your most memorable moment in ministry?
Performing the wedding ceremonies of our two oldest children. I’m looking forward to the third!
What is your favorite biblical character and who do you relate to?
In the Old Testament, David and the New Testament, Peter. I relate to their absolute humanity and struggle between spirit and flesh and how their victories are won through their faith alone.

What pastime do you enjoy most?
Cooking and enjoying it with my family and friends.

What is your favorite music?
Almost all Contemporary Christian music.
