Who We Are

Who We Are

OUR MISSION IS TO WORSHIP GOD, SHARE THE GOOD NEWS OF CHRIST, MINISTER TO PEOPLE, AND GROW IN CHRISTLIKENESS.

We are a missionary Baptist Church believing that Christ came to be the Lord and Savior of the world and that we continue His mission and ministry on earth today. Our strategy is based on Acts 1:8: We first focus on “our Jerusalem” – Cocoa Brevard County, “Judea and Samaria” – Florida and U.S.A; and unto “the ends of the earth” – international (world-wide).

To accomplish our mission we have established supportive partnerships with:
Cocoa Pastors Fellowship
Brevard Baptist Association
Florida Baptist Convention
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
Southern Baptist Convention

Our Beliefs and Values

We believe that everyone has direct access to God through prayer.

James 5:13-18; Hebrews 4:15-16; We can do nothing without the Lord.

We value the Bible as the foundation for everything we do. We encourage each person to study the Bible and to apply it to every part of life.

II Timothy 3:16: We base all we do on God’s word. We study it, believe it and obey it.
II Timothy 2:2; Psalm 119:1-5: And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable elders who will also be qualified to teach others.

We encourage individuals in becoming fully developed followers of Jesus Christ who is Savior, Lord, and guide of our lives. We are supportive of women ordained in ministry.

1 Peter 4:10: Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
Galatians 3:28: We are all one in Christ with ministry based not on gender but spiritual gifts.

We believe in a free, autonomous local church, and we cooperate with fellow Christians to spread the news of Jesus Christ and to help others. It is important for believers and seekers to join in the worship of God in various worship styles.

Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42: We take seriously the Great Commission to share the Gospel.
Hebrews 10:25: We encourage the holy habit of regular worship to the glory of God.

We believe in the regular practice of Baptism by immersion and participation in the Lord’s Supper. Both of these New Testament ordinances are symbolic acts of obedience. They do not dispense grace but are the result of God’s grace bringing salvation to a believer. Baptism is an act of dedication to follow Jesus and an act of identification with the church. Communion is a remembrance of Christ’s death and the anticipation of Christ’s ultimate return to earth.

Romans 6:3-5: Baptism is a picture of death to the sin life and birth to a new Christ life.
1 Corinthians 11:24-26: We are reminded in the Lord’s Supper of the extent of Jesus’ love in giving his life for our sins on the cross.

We return to God the best of all the resources God has given us, including, time, abilities, and money. Excellence and faithfulness honors God and inspires people.

Malachi 3:10; II Corinthians 9:6-8: We are blessed when we give God our tithes and offerings.

We recognize the value of children and youth now and in the future of our society. We seek to share with them God’s love and model for them a life of discipline in relationships to God, family, and friends.

Psalm 127:3: Children are a gift from the Lord.
Galations 6:5:  We are responsible for our conduct.
